Champions League Club gives students a chance to watch games from the UEFA Champions League competition. We will primarily watch games from the men’s competition, but we will also feature games from the Women’s Champions League when possible! Before matches and during half time, we will also learn more about the history, clubs, and format of the Champions League competition. No experience or background in soccer is required. Come ready to cheer on your favorite European team, or be ready to discover a team to cheer for in the future.

NextGen Leadership Academy
Youth Democracy Institute’s NextGen Leadership Academy will launch a Civic Belonging & Leadership Series designed for 6th graders. The series builds students’ leadership skills through 8th grade. Using real-life situations involving friendships, conflict, fairness, digital citizenship, and communicating with peers and adults, students practice working across differences, building consensus, finding common ground, and advocating for themselves and others. The experience culminates with students developing recommendations around an issue that matters to them and presenting their ideas to school decision-makers.

Photography Club
In Photography Club, you will discover that taking an incredible picture is all about how you train your eye, not how expensive your equipment is—so you can participate using a smartphone or your school iPad. You will practice framing, using leading lines, playing with dramatic light and shadows, and mastering the Rule of Thirds. Through fun photo scavenger hunts around school and interactive gallery walks with your peers, you will gain hands-on experience telling unique stories through your own creative perspective.

The groups will alternate and meet every other Wednesday from 2:45 – 4:10, beginning September 30th and continuing through the end of the school year in Room 320. Students must regularly attend each class (every other Wednesday) to build upon their cooking skills.
