Happy Thanksgiving Phoenix Families – I hope this long weekend allowed you the time to relax and reconnect with family and friends. There are lots of wonderful activities coming up over the next three weeks – I look forward to seeing you at DHMS for a few of them. Upcoming Events:

• If your student is interested in singing, acting, and/or participating on Tech Crew – please have them attend the Annie, Jr. Musical Interest Meeting on Monday, 11/29, at 2:30 in the DHMS Auditorium.
• The DHMS Book Fair will be here from December 1-7 in the library!  Want to help? Parents can sign up to volunteer here. For more information, check out our website here.
  • Students will come to the book fair with their Reading (6th grade) or English classes (7th/8th grade). The book fair will be open all day from 7:40 am to 2:45 pm. Students may visit during TA, lunch, or right after school.
  • We will have a Family Night on Thursday, December 2 from 5-8pm. Enter at Door 16!
  • Teacher wish lists will be available in the library and online.
  • Parents can also shop online. To set up your account:

• Our amazing Performing Arts Department kicks into Concert mode over the next few weeks.  Please join us in our auditorium, fully masked, to see and hear your Phoenix students perform:
  • Orchestra Concert – December 7 at 7:00 PM
  • Band Concert – December 9 – begins at 7:00 PM – check with your student about the time for their performance.
  • Chorus Concert – December 15 at 7:00 PM
• Please join our new Resource Teacher for the Gifted, Ms. Regina Boyd, as she presents our annual Gifted Information Night presentation on Monday, December 13, at 6:30 PM.  This will be a virtual presentation – the link will be sent on Monday (12/13) morning.
• December 8 is an early release day for students – students will be dismissed at 11:54 AM.
• Parent Chats will be held this month on:
  •  Monday, December 6 (in English) – this meeting will focus on high school information, including how kids will sign up for classes!
  • Monday, December 13 (in Spanish) – topic tbd.
