I teach Life Science (7th grade) at DHMS. I am originally from Costa Rica, a beautiful country famous for its nature and peace. Since I was a little girl, I knew I wanted to study science. I did my undergrad in Tropical Biology and my Masters in Conservation Biology at the Universidad de Costa Rica. I had amazing experiences doing research in the rainforest and introducing students to the complexity of ecosystems and our role in preserving them.
I moved to Virginia after meeting my husband. We have an 8-year-old son and a rescue dog, Café. Together, we enjoy the outdoors, music, food and learning about different cultures.
I love teaching and learning! Once I moved to Virginia, I completed a Masters in Science Education at George Mason University and have been teaching at APS since 2009.
