P. Tuttle

Teacher, 7th Grade Social Studies

I grew up in Wilmington, Delaware, but have called Arlington home for almost 25 years. I live here with my husband and our two sons- Sam, 22, and Ben, 18- and our dog, Cady. (She is named for Elizabeth Cady Stanton and Acadia National Park in Maine.) Acadia is one of our favorite places to visit as a family because it has mountains AND the ocean, so we’re all happy. Being near water always makes me happy. My passion for teaching, government, politics and history began when I was in the 8th grade and realized that even though I could not yet vote, I still had a voice. I became a teacher so I could help others learn how to speak up in their own communities. After teaching at Gunston and Williamsburg, I am excited to be here at DHMS.
