I'm a New Yorker at heart but was born overseas in Aberdeen, Scotland. I graduated with my Bachelor's from SUNY Fredonia and attained my reading Masters from SUNY Brockport and am certified in Cognitive Coaching and as an EL Educator. All of this helps me show students how to help digest key components of word problems that students see in a math context. I also try to support students and our teachers who support our students with the Concrete, Representation and Abstract (CRA) so we can meet students on which level they are demonstrating to eventually bring them to the abstract level. Utilizing math workshop and KAGAN Cooperative Learning Structured are 2 ways we try to meet the needs of our students in our delivery which results in personalized learning, heightened engagement and increased academic gains. I enjoy supporting teachers with cooperative structures and management to heighten engagement and increase academic gains in their classes. When I’m not co-teaching, training, leading PDs I enjoy inspirational movies like REMEMBER THE TITANS. I love to travel, lay out by the pool, cook, go to church and spend time with friends and family.
