Hailing from Alabama, I've lived in Arlington longer than anywhere else. A graduate of the University of Montevallo in Alabama and George Mason University in Fairfax, I've taught 6th, 7th and 8th grade science in APS (mostly Williamsburg) for a long time. I have also been a school counselor for three of my APS years. I have a college first-year student at UVA and a senior at Washington-Liberty. I love gardening, mystery books, the Marvel and Star Wars franchises, biking, volleyball and ultimate frisbee. I wish I had a dog.

I'm from the Lone Star State. I've currently lived in the area for two years now. I received my undergraduate degree from Texas Southern University and my graduate degree from Concordia Texas. I've taught 6th, 7th and 8th grade science but only 6th here at Hamm. I enjoy coaching, biking, playing flag football and volleyball, and anything outdoors.

I teach Life Science (7th grade) at DHMS. I am originally from Costa Rica, a beautiful country famous for its nature and peace. Since I was a little girl, I knew I wanted to study science. I did my undergrad in Tropical Biology and my Masters in Conservation Biology at the Universidad de Costa Rica. I had amazing experiences doing research in the rainforest and introducing students to the complexity of ecosystems and our role in preserving them. I moved to Virginia after meeting my husband. We have an 11-year-old son and a rescued dog, Café. Together, we enjoy the outdoors, music, food and learning about different cultures. I love teaching and learning! Once I moved to Virginia, I completed a Masters in Science Education at George Mason University and have been teaching at APS since 2009.

I am originally from Connecticut. There, I attended Sacred Heart University, and earned my Bachelor's in Biology with a concentration in Neuroscience, as well as my Master's in Teaching. I have a STEM-specific background, so I love incorporating real world phenomena, technology, engineering, and mathematics in the science classroom! I moved to the DMV area in 2019 and have enjoyed exploring all of trails here. I also love to travel, paint, and garden.

Originally from Allentown, Pennsylvania, I have lived in the Northern Virginia Area for about 30 years! I graduated from George Mason University with degrees in Biology and Clinical Pathology, and earned a Masters in Education from Marymount University. My very favorite thing to do is to read, and I have a lifelong habit of staying up way too late reading!

Hello! I am originally from Houston, TX. I grew up there, and spent a few years in Calgary, Canada as well. I got my Bachelors in Biotechnology at the University of Houston (Go Coogs!) and tutored professionally for the University as well. I moved to Arlington with my partner of 2.5 years, along with our very rambunctious kittens, Bianca and Jorge. I love to read manga, play video games, and run!
